This site represents the results of family history research being undertaken by several family members.
The branch of the family that we are currently researching hails from Severn Stoke, a small village in Worcestershire, some four miles south of Worcester.
Links between the family and Severn Stoke and the surrounding villages has been traced to the first half of the 16th century.
Variants of the name found are Stonal, Stonehall, Stoneall, Stonnall, Stonel, Stonell and Stonnell.
The family movements have been traced from Kempsey to Dudley, West Bromwich, Nottingham and Merseyside. Not all of these movements have been completely investigated in any detail.
The name and variants have been noted in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Yorkshire and London. It has not yet been established that either these groupings or spellings are related.
Place names of Stonnall, a village in Staffordshire, Stonall a village in Kent and Stonehall common near Severn Stoke in Worcestershire have not yet been shown to have any relationship to the family name.
Many other families have, of course, been joined to our family by marriage. These families are also the subject of some limited research by us.
The following pages contain lists of all known members of the family, all other people found with the same name but not known to be members of the family, lists of families associated by marriage and lists of people found with variations of the spelling of the name.
The family tree shown does not contain any reference to living persons, a fuller version of the tree showing all members is only available to members of the family. If you are a member of the family please contact Derek for instructions on gaining access to the private area of the site.
If you have information concerning the Stonall family or any of the associated families or if you can indicate how any other name can be linked to the family please contact either Patrick or Derek.
